Boker tov!
Yesterday was our first day in Israel and it was amazing. The plane ride was pretty tiring but well worth the arrival we recieved. As soon as we went through customs, all the Israeli soldiers (for the Taglit) were dancing and singing for us, and then we joined in with them. It was a great was to break the ice. All the Israelis are awesome!
We did a hike through Gilabun which is in the North. We hiked for a while and finally made it to the waterfall, which we got to go into. The water was shockingly cold but easy to get used to. I really enjoyed that experience. The hike back up was pretty tiring, but I thought it was great. After the hike we went to Mt. Bental for a really cool view point. We could see the boarder of Israel and Syria, which is unbelievably close. We got a history lesson about the 6-day war that happened in Israel in 1967.
We then went to another view point were we could see the Sea of Galalie. It was beautiful. We also got to play some games and get to know each other. Later in the night we were allowed to go to the Kibbutz pub, most of us tried the Israeli beer which was not too bad.
It was a great day. Its only been one day but I know I've made some friends for life.
Dont miss us too much,
Hilla Bornstein
